Green Synthesis and Cytotoxic Activity Evaluation of Novel Pyrimidoazepines abstract

This study endeavor examined the application of a green methodology encompassing isatoic anhydrides, α-haloketones, electron-deficient acetylenic compounds, and guanidine within an aqueous medium at ambient temperature in the presence of SiO2/Fe3O4@Graphene Oxide. The objective was to synthesize novel pyrimidoazepine derivatives with high yields. The synthesized pyrimidoazepines incorporate NH functional groups possessing acidic protons and exhibit significant antioxidant properties. The MTT assay was used to assess the cytotoxic effects of all synthesized compounds in vitro against malignancies such as cancer cell lines (MCF-7 and A549) besides non-cancerous cell lines (BEAS-2B). Cytotoxicity pertains to the capacity of a substance to induce cellular death. The employed technology for the pyrimidoazepines synthesis presents numerous advantages, including accelerated reaction kinetics, exceptional product yield, and uncomplicated product isolation.
