Food safety RoadMap Toward Agenda 2030 abstract
The 21century faces multiple and complex challenges the new 2030 sustainabledevelopment Agenda 2030.The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) or Global Goalsare a collection of 17 interlinked global goals designed to be a "shared blueprint for peaceand prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future". The SDGs were set upin 2015 by the United Nations General Assembly (UN-GA) and are intended to be achievedby 2030. They are included in a UN-GA Resolution called the 2030 Agenda or what iscolloquially known as Agenda 2030.Safe food is a primary determinant of human health. It is a basic human right to haveaccess to safe and healthy food. In seeking to guarantee this right, governments must ensurethat available food meets safety standards, national food safety systems while improvinginternational and national collaboration. While recognizing that food safety is a sharedresponsibility among multiple stakeholders, countries must show leadership in adoptingand implementing food safety policies which ensure that each stakeholder knows andcorrectly plays their part. However, access to sufficient, safe, and wholesome food for allremains an elusive goal. Economic disparities within and across countries, includingmarked differences in the strength of national food safety systems and complex dynamicsthat operate within food systems, have significantly slowed progress towards achievingthis goal. Since its establishment in 1948, the World Health Organization (WHO) has hadan unwavering 17 commitment to reducing the burden of foodborne illness on globalhealth. Food safety is a public health priority with a critical role in the 2030 agenda for 29sustainable developments. The strategy’s vision is to achieve safe and healthy food for allso that all countries are capable of promoting, supporting and protecting their population’shealth by applying food safety best practice to reduce the burden of foodborne diseases.WHO remains committed more than ever to providing continued guidance and support toMember States to prioritize, plan, implement, monitor and regularly evaluate actions tocontinuously strengthen food safety systems and promote global cooperation.This paper is a literature review that provided a new improve national food safety to recognize into national polices for health, agriculture, trade, Envi mental, and develop. IN addition, the growing global demand for food safety income from short term and medium /long term.
