A study on renewable energies and investigating the potential ofsolar radiation in the world and Iran along with the simulationof photovoltaic system under constant radiation abstract
Considering the continuous increase in human energy needs and the depletion of fossil energy resources, the excessive use of fossil fuels pollutes the environment and poses a threat to life on the planet. Utilizingrenewable energy, particularly solar energy, emerges as the best alternative to fossil fuels.; Because thesolar energy reaching the earth at midday is around 1000 watts per square meter, regardless ofgeographical location, and it is a cost-effective and easily accessible source of renewable energy, utilizing aphotovoltaic system is the most efficient way to harness it. With an average of 5 kilowatt hours per squaremeter of solar radiation energy on the surface of Iran and a total daily solar radiation of nearly 9 billionmegawatt hours, Iran has a significant potential for solar energy exploitation. In this article, we haveexplored the potential of solar radiation in Iran and globally. By simulating a photovoltaic system exposed toa constant radiation of 5 kilowatt hours per square meter, we have analyzed the electricity production. Ourfindings indicate that Iran, with over 300 sunny days in more than two-thirds of its territory and an averagedaily radiation of 5 kilowatt hours per square meter, stands out as a country with significant solar energypotential. The solar radiation levels in Iran fluctuate annually between approximately 1800 and 2200Kwh/m2, positioning the country as one of the most promising regions for solar energy radiation worldwide.
