The Impact of Bio-Pesticides on Soil Invertebrates abstract
The increasing popularity of biopesticides as alternatives to traditional chemical pesticides has raised concerns regarding their potential effects on soil invertebrates. In this study, the side effects of biopesticides on soil invertebrates were investigated to determine their direct and indirect side effects on habitat changes and food availability for other organisms. Unlike common synthetic pesticides, biopesticides are assumed to be relatively safe compounds that do not have many adverse effects on non-target organisms; however, the side effects of this group of compounds should be scientifically and accurately evaluated in non-target organisms that are exposed to them. Among non-target organisms are soil invertebrates that are exposed to all types of pesticides and are affected by them. In this review, the effects of this group of compounds on soil invertebrates are investigated.
