Artificial intelligence and information technology security: a new horizon in predicting and managing security and cyber threats abstract

With the rapid advancement of new technologies, artificial intelligence (AI) has become a key element in the field of information technology security. This technology, with its capabilities in threat detection and combating cyberattacks, is emerging as an effective tool for risk management. In today's world, where cyberattacks have become one of the major international challenges, AI can significantly aid in identifying complex attack patterns and predicting potential threats. This article explores and analyzes the applications of AI in improving information technology security, with a particular focus on managing cyber threats. The research, using a descriptive-analytical method, involves collecting and coding data from reliable articles and sources in scientific databases (such as Google Scholar, IEEE Xplore, ScienceDirect, SpringerLink, and other reputable scientific databases) and selecting relevant and valid articles through purposive sampling. Furthermore, to validate the data information, content validation of the articles and consistency of results with existing scientific foundations were used. For evaluating validity, selected articles were assessed based on their direct relevance to the research objectives and criteria such as scientific accuracy and alignment with the existing literature. To strengthen external validity, similar articles in these fields were reviewed. For evaluating reliability, inter-rater reliability and test-retest reliability methods were used to ensure that the findings are valid and reproducible. The results of this study include threat identification, response to attacks, and big data analysis, covering areas such as security operation centers, industrial networks, and the Internet of Things. Through the conducted analyses, the researcher provides two conceptual diagrams that represent the applications of AI and related operational areas. These diagrams visually provide a better understanding of the diversity and extent of AI applications in the field of cybersecurity.
