The effects of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on children and adolescentsurvivors abstract

Leukemias result from the abnormal proliferation of hematopoietic stem cells. Acutelymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is the most common childhood cancer, accounting forapproximately 75% of pediatric leukemia cases. With survival rates now reaching around 90%,understanding the long-term effects of ALL has become increasingly important. Studies indicatethat high-risk treatments are associated with adverse physical, psychological, and socialoutcomes. Future research should prioritize risk-adapted treatment strategies to mitigatecomplications such as cardiotoxicity, bone disorders, and neuropathy.
