The Role of Dietary Supplements in Preventing Skin Cancer abstract

Skin cancer is one of the most common malignancies worldwide, primarily driven by ultraviolet (UV) radiationexposure, genetic factors, and oxidative stress. Dietary supplements, including antioxidants, vitamins (C, D, E),minerals (selenium, zinc), and polyphenols, have gained attention as potential preventive strategies. Thesecompounds help mitigate oxidative damage, enhance DNA repair, and reduce inflammation caused by UVexposure. Despite promising results from laboratory studies and clinical trials, variations in findings highlight theneed for further research. This paper examines the mechanisms and potential of dietary supplements ascomplementary measures in skin cancer prevention.
