The effect of signaling pathways on the induction and inhibition of apoptosis in cervicalcancer abstract

Cervical cancer (CC) is the most prevalent malignancy among women globally, with high-risk humanpapillomavirus (HPV) infection being a primary contributor to its development. This study reviews the intricateroles of various signaling pathways in the modulation of apoptosis in cervical cancer cells. Apoptosis, a crucialmechanism for eliminating damaged cells, is significantly influenced by these pathways, which include Wnt/β-catenin, P53, Notch, NF-κB, TLR, PI3K/Akt/mTOR, TGF-β, JAK/STAT, and ERK/MAPK. Disruptions in thesepathways often inhibit apoptosis, facilitating tumor growth and resistance to therapies. Conversely, under specificconditions, TGF-β and JAK/STAT pathways may promote apoptotic processes. Understanding these signalingmechanisms is essential for developing novel therapeutic strategies aimed at restoring apoptosis and improvingtreatment efficacy. Future research should prioritize targeting these pathways and identifying biomarkers for earlydetection and prognosis in cervical cancer.
