A Review of the Application of Intelligent Systems for Monitoring and Conserving Animals in Mining Areas abstract
The present research focuses on usage and evaluation of intelligent systems for monitoring and protection of wildlife in areas affected by mining activities. Habitat loss and other disturbances in mined areas have put severe threats to many animals, hence advanced technology must be applied in mitigating them. Intelligent systems using the Internet of Things and machine learning algorithms may turn out to be major tools in the monitoring and management of the habitats of animals living in mining zones. It discusses the application of intelligent systems in animal presence and behavior detection and analysis, monitoring and assessment of environmental data, and prediction of the impact of mining activities on wildlife. The challenges and benefits of using these technologies in the monitoring and protection of wildlife are also discussed. These findings can now be used to ensure that the intelligent system implementation in managing practices could reduce the negative mining operations impact on animal habitats. Indeed, this research provides real-world solutions and recommendations for the optimization of using smart technologies for surveillance and conservation of wildlife in mining areas.
