A STUDY OF AFFECTING FACTORS ON CLASSROOM DISCUSSION TO LEARNING ENGLISH LANGUAGE abstract
The present study investigated the influence of classroom discussion, especially reflections of anxiety, classmate's effect, teacher dispositions and interpersonal behaviours in classroom discussion to learning English language. Although advances in knowledge of teaching and learning processes involved in English language have been made over the past decades, there are still problems in distinguishing between myths and realities in the field, so we will briefly touch on some of the critical issues of classroom discussion in a foreign language from the perspective of psycholinguistic to evaluation of discourse and examined the relationship between English Language Learners (ELL) and factors that effect on student to participate in classroom discussion for students’ fluency in English with respect to their age. A total of 86 students from eight classes in a foreign language institute statistically evaluate. The study reveals the impact of percentage of anxiety and teacher cooperation to participate of student in classroom discussion and results showed open-format discussion approach would accelerate learning English and enhanced students’ interest and engagement in discussions toward learning English language
