Abstract:
The crystal structure of novel cyclometalated Rh(III) complex, [Rh(η2-phpy)2(phen-dione)]PF6, has been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffractionmethod. Orange crystals of Rh(η2-phpy)2(phen-dione)]PF6.CH3CN were grown by ether diffusion into an acetonitrile solution of the complex. This complex has a spacegroup Orthorhombic (Z=4) and crystal system of Pna21 with a = 28.3692(18) Å, b = 8.4364(6) Å, c = 14.0292(11) Å,α = 90° V= 3357.7(4) Å3. The structure was refined by using 20801 independent reflections, with I>2σ(I) to an R factor of 0.0349.The symmetry of the monocation [Rh(η2-phpy)2(phen-dione)]+ is formally Cs.
