Abstract:
As the recovery mechanisms in fractured reservoirs are different from conventional reservoirs so the EOR is different in it. The intention of this study was to analyse improved oil recovery methods – water flooding, immiscible and miscible gas injection in fractured reservoirs as function of fracture intensity, matrix block size, wettability and capillary pressure. It was assumed that the reservoir was a dual porosity system in
which a high permeability fracture network is connected to a lower permeability stagnant matrix that contains the majority of the original oil in
place. Wettability and Fracture-Matrix coupling shape factor is one of the most important parameters in production and recovery from conventional and fractured reservoir. The simulations were conducted using the dual porosity option of the Eclipse 100 simulator and different scenarios were studied.
