Experimental Design in Aqueous Two Phase System of PEG- Na2SO4 -Water abstract
Aqueous two-phase systems are powerful technique for separation, concentration and purification of proteins, cell organelles and other biological products. In order to apply this technique to engineering purpose the experimental data has a great importance. In this research, the liquid–liquid equilibrium data for aqueous twophase systems of PEG-sodium sulfate-water system at different temperature and molecular weight of PEG have
investigated. As the experimental design, methods are important tools for laboratory works, In this study by using the experimental design method the effect of important parameter such as polymer molecular weight, salt concentration and temperature on these systems have investigated and a model for partitioning of each component in ATPS was proposed. The comparison of our experimental data with the results of the experimental design regression shows that the model can predict the liquid-liquid equilibria in these systems very well.
