Optimization Energy Consumption Using Virtual Machine Consolidation In Cloud Computing Environment abstract
Consolidation of virtual machine is a key technique in order to load balancing and increase the efficiency of physical resources that lead to decrease energy consumption and increase the satisfaction of users and decrease cost of services. According to dynamic nature of work flow in cloud environment at the majority of performed works, work flow behavior received from user at last period and heterogeneity of virtual machines have not been considered. In this paper we will present a heuristic algorithm where new placement of virtual machine is selected according to past fluctuation resource requirement and virtual machines grouping based on the remaining resource capacity and homogeneity of workloads. We compared our algorithm due to metrics of energy consumption and user satisfaction with well known algorithm FFD, BFD and PABFD. We could get to success in decreasing the energy consumption and SLA violation.
