Abstract:
This paper presents a new set of correlations for estimating Iranian oil reservoir properties, utilizing experimental data which are available in fields. However, when there is no representative pressure volume temperature (PVT) data, these correlations would be applied. Because of different chemical compositions of oil in each region, the PVT correlations should be modified or generated for desired region. The new Correlations of oil formation volume factor (Bo) at bubble point pressure and under saturated isothermal oil compressibility (Co) have been generate. Also the best bubble point pressure (pb) and solution gas oil ratio (GOR) at bubble point pressure relations has been modified, About 190 PVT reports from Iranian oil fields (A smari and Bangestan formations) have been used in Solver tool Microsoft Excel. Which uses Newton’s method option with forward derivatives. The different published correlations were compared to each other in Iranian oil fields are; Al Marhoun, Standing, petrosky & Farshad, Vasquez & Beggs, Glaso and Tehrani. The percentage of average absolute errors for pb, GOR, Co and Bo in this study is much lower than published correlations for Iranian oil.
