Modelling of Steam Injection Effects on Performance Parameters and NOx Emissions of a Gas Turbine abstract
In this study, the effect of steam injection technology has been investigated for various elevations in a gas turbine by using a turboprop engine. The steam injection is a common method for improving the performance parameters and reducing the NOx emissions in turboprop engines. A computer code has been developed for the gas turbine optimization. This program is capable of simulating the steam injection process. The process of steam injection has been analysed based on a thermodynamic cycle. The results showed that thrust specific fuel consumption (TSFC) and NOx emissions has been decrease by using of steam injection technology. Also, the thermal efficiency and thrust coefficient have been improved. The results have been verified successfully by available experimental data.
