Induced resistance in cucumber by Bacillus cereus against root knot nematode abstract

Induction of defense system of cucumber plants by Bacillus cereus against root knot nematode, Meloidogyne javanica, was studied in greenhouse condition. Bacteria used as concentrations of 109 cfu/ml and all treatments inoculated by 2000 J2 of nematode. In biochemical experiments some lignin was measured in root cells which are affected by inducer. Results indicated that soil drenching of Bacillus cereus induced plant resistance against nematode and 3 days after inoculation of nematode some lignin in root cells was produced. Also gall, eggmass and egg numbers were decreased significantly by biocontrol agent.
