Identification of criteria for coastal cities site selection in Caspian territory (with sustainable coastal zone management approach)

Coastal area is a place where water and land links and is subscription of two ecosystems with distinct specificities from one another. Increasing stress on coastal area is caused by economicdevelopment, rapid population growth, migration from the inner parts of the land to coastal areasand exploitation of coastal resources. Nowadays, signs of turmoil are seen in many of the coastalregions of Iran and the world, so that these areas are arriving at the threshold of production lossstage and ecological function disorder. Hence, it is essential to regularize relationship betweenhuman and coastal areas with the aim of sustainable utilization [1].
