Experimental Investigation of Flexural Fatigue for Graphene/Carbonnano-fiber Hybrid Nanocomposites abstract
The influence of adding graphene nano sheets and carbon nano-fibers on the flexural fatigue of epoxy polymer has been investigated in the present study. The samples were implemented to different displacement amplitudes cause to the known state of bending stresses. The flexural bending fatigue life of 0.25 wt.% hybrid nanoparticles/epoxy nanocomposites was conducted. A remarkable improvement in fatigue life of epoxy was observed in comparison with results obtained by adding 0.25 wt.% graphene or CNF into the resin, separately. At a flexural stress equal to 47.3 MPa using 0.25 wt.% of hybrid nanoparticles; 38.2-fold improvement in flexural bending fatigue life of the neat epoxy was obserrved. While, enhancement of adding only graphene and CNF was 27.4 and 24-folds, respectively.
