Abstract:
Active propagation of diagnostic waves is one of the common techniques for damage detection.Because of advantages of PZT, NDE companies currently use them as actuating or sensingequipment. But the sliding of two bodies is too difficult to detect. Because of the availabilityof a cantilever beam to the authors, it is chosen as an experiment setup. Location andnatural frequency of the sensors is an important issue in investigating the sliding phenomenon.In this case the location of the sensor is fixed at the end of the beam and the natural frequencyof the sensor has been studied and different sliding velocities and different frictioncoefficients are used in order to study their effect, consequently FFT is performed on the voltage to see the effects in the frequency domain
