Abstract:
Fuzzy controllers are used frequently in different applications because of simplicity in their design and implementation. However, the lack of any optimization method to optimize the membership functions, make them a try and error method which their parameters are set by experience. When there are numerous membership functions and a low speed system is used, traditional methods of fuzzy controllers would be very time consuming and are not recommended to be used. In the present paper, membership functions of fuzzy controller; triangular, bell shape, Gaussian and trapezoidal are adjusted using the Bees Algorithm, so that the error is minimized for model and performance of controllers is considerably improved. The proposed method is simulated on hydraulically actuated tank gun turret and its efficiency is compared with the results of the classical PID controller designed by Ziegler and Nichols method. It has been optimized fuzzy controller, max overshoot 43.25% and the settling time to 54.02% of the PID controller better than classical method.
