Abstract:

A micro grid consists of various types of smart distributed generators, renewable generators, storage devices and controllable load, which not only must meet their local needs but also are under the hierarchical control of management system. Due to this combination the unit commitment becomes more crucial and more complicated in the management of a micro grid. In this paper, component models of microgrids are determined by using real data. Operation cost and pollution of microgrid with renewable energy resources is formulated and minimized in order to determine the optimal generation of each DG during a day by GAMS software. The problem formulation includes purchased energy from the main grid, DG’s operational cost, pollution of DGs, and other constrains of each DG are considered
