Abstract:
Microgrid is a controllable unit that includesDistributed Generation, loads, energy storages and controldevices. It can be operated in grid connected and islandingmodes. In the grid connected, DG s are operated in PQ control.This means that DG s are inject predefined P and Q (P ref andQref). Voltage and frequency of microgrid is controlled bymaingrid and maingrid supply any change of microgrid loads. InIslanding mode, when the microgrid is disconnected from themain grid, DG s are operated in Vf control. In this mode, DGunits should be able to control voltage and frequency ofmicrogrid and feeding loads. In this paper we concentrate onmodeling and control of microgrid in both grid connected andislanding modes. MATLAB/Simulink software is used forsimulation of the case study.
