The Examination of Type and Character and their differences in the Tale and Story abstract

Character and Type are irremovable and structural elements of story and folktale. This research studies the characters of folktales that are always considered as the hero, and these heroes change into TYPE because of their general and repetitive characters. Character and characterization in which evolution is of its common attributes are seen mostly in modern novels while in folktales the characters are always the same who do repetitive actions that are considered as TYPE . The researcher of this study wants to find what kinds of differences exist between character and type in story and folktales. In other words, is there any clear difference between these two? This study is a descriptive- analytic research the researcher of which finds that TYPE is different from character from the view point of easiness of recognition , commonality in action , predictability , repetitiveness , cliché and other features which can be categorized.
