Fabrication of Mesoporous Silica using Triblock Copolymer as Template abstract
Block copolymers were used as template in nano silica structure synthesis like SBA16(Santa Barbara Amorphous) and new particle named SPB (silicone mesoporous particles synthesizedfrom PPG-PEG-PPG block copolymer) and their porosity and crystalinity were compared. Themain advantage of using block copolymers as template is preparation larger pores and thicker wall so they are more suitable when putting larger catalytic molecules in their pores or making higher resistance in catalyst fragmentation. Nitrogen adsorption-desorption, X-ray diffraction and electron scanning microscopy confirmed the mesoporous structure of these synthesized materials.
