Abstract:
Environmental impact assessment (EIA) reports are necessary and useful formitigating the negative impacts of human developmental activities onenvironment. But a glance on environment situation in Iran shows that notonly destructive impacts haven’t decreased but also the major problems arerevealed; this confirms that there are some shortcomings and defects in EIAprocess and reports. This paper investigated the shortcomings in EIAprocesses and reports in Iran. According to findings of this study, one of theimportant defects is lack of accurate measurement and predicting of pollutantsimpact on environment such as aquatic environments. Therefore, the current study reviewed on different simulation models inaquatic systems. Accordingly, Aquatox model appears useful for predictingthe impacts on aquatic ecosystem.
