Nowadays, power distribution systems cannot support allrequirements of consumers. Consumers require electrical powerwith quality and reliability more than ever before. For achieving tothese requirements, our systems are required to be intelligent andautomatic. Smart grid technology is a new way to achieve thesespecifications. In this paper, we review implementing aspects,Communication and Operation of smart grid technology from threepoints of view: evolution of developing the existing technology tothe smart technology, system reliability and standards of smart gridtechnology.
