M3GM Application in petroleum reservoir simulation abstract
Fluid transport in petroleum reservoir occurs in multiple length scale and several physics. Simulation that contains all these scale and multiple physics interaction exceeds computational capacity. In order to fill this deficiency Mutiscale Mutiphysic Mixed Geomechanical Model (M3GM) is developed recently. However applications to petroleum reservoir through gas and water injection in depleted reservoir is in concern. In present paper first, the mathematical framework of M3GM is illustrated. Then, its application in petroleum reservoir through injection process is validated. The numerical results are compared with fine scale simulations and reasonable agreement with high computational efficiency is obtained.
