Abstract:

Wheat as a main food of Iranian people and the world, which always important aspects of the social, economic and political life has had itsinfluence. Hence the production of wheat and its self-sufficiency was one of the most important goals of government. Through this study and using the political tools and the appropriate administrative approaches, we able to strange efficiency of the wheat farmers and reduce the technical inefficiency to produce the wheat so that the local farmerssecure a part of the internal demands in this way. This Study based on Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) by using multi-stage approach and inputs oriented attitude, under variable returns to scale (VRS), technical efficiency of irrigated wheat production in 30provinces and 25 provinces in dry land land farming wheat production in agricultural periods (2005-2009), has been measured. The resultsshow that the total average technical efficiency in irrigated wheat is relatively high and equal to (0/90) and the total average technicalefficiency of dry land land farming wheat also relatively high and equal to (0/84). Therefore, average technical efficiency of total period for irrigated wheat is higher than that for its dry land land farming in Iran. Other result of this study is that the total average technical efficiency of irrigated wheat in southern provinces of Iran (0/98) is higher than that for Northern provinces (0/89). But the total average technical efficiency of dry land land farming wheat in Northern provinces (0/88) is higher than that in southern provinces (0/72).
