Abstract:

In recent years there has been tremendous excitement at the nano-biotechnological subjects for the cancertherapy. Premature indicators for nanoparticle-derived antiprolifration effects should be provided by a relative measurefor cytotoxicity of nanomaterials in comparison to its ion. This intention made us to assess the chemically synthesizedsilver nanoparticles and compare its lethal efficiency with AgNO3 as its ion. Silver nanoparticles synthesized by using 1mM silver nitrate and characterized with plasmon resonance band at 430 nm by UV-Vis spectrometer. Also its fine sizeidentified in the range of 14.46 nm by dynamic light scattering (DLS). The anticancer effect of silver nanoparticles andAgNO3 on Human epithelial mammary gland adenocarcinoma cell line (MCF-7) was evaluated by the MTT colorimetrictechnique. The comparing results indicate that silver nanoparticles and silver ions on MCF-7 exhibit a dose-dependenttoxicity for the cell tested. The viability of MCF-7 decreased to 50% (IC50) at the concentration of 15 and 46 μg/ml forsilver nanoparticles and silver ions respectively. Further findings will verify the preference of this cost effective nanotreatments.
