Amino functionalization of nano titania through phosphate coordination abstract

The objective of this study was surface modification of nano titania with o-Phosphoethanolamine (AP) as asuitable linker for more functionalizing. The modified nano titania has been studied by FT-IR and solid state NMRspectra, TGA, DSC, CHN, BET, TEM and SEM analysis. It was revealed that AP molecules are predominantly bondedto the surface through phosphate groups, forming covalent bonds, while amino groups remain accessible. The result wasforming aminofunctionalized nano titania with slightly more than 1 wt% surface coverage with coupling agent.
