Abstract:

In this study a special kind of metal organic frameworks (MOFs), named as CuBTC, was synthesized andits hydrogen storage capability was investigated. The adsorbent was synthesized at atmospheric pressure and refluxcondition in three different temperatures in order to identify effect of temperature on its structure and hydrogenadsorption capacity. The MOFs structure have been characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanningelectron microscopy (FE-SEM) and N2 adsorption at 77 K. Hydrogen adsorption experiments were carried out atambient temperature using the volumetric technique. The enhancement in the hydrogen adsorption capacity of thesynthesised sample at 80 oC is attributed to the increase of crystallinity and pore volume.
