The present study illustrates theoretical concepts of fluid motion in presence of a nonuniform electric field created by traveling wave. Starting from the equation of a nonuniformelectric field and considering energy equation in a dielectric, traveling wave Dielectrophoresis (twDEP) force equation is presented for a system of induced dipolesin a dielectric fluid. Besides, experimental observation is conducted by pumping kerosene in a proposed Electrohydrodynamic (EHD) micropump. Results show there is a similar trend between calculated twDEP force and measured flow rate.Furthermore, the simulation of two dimensional traveling wave is done using the FEM based software COMSOL Multy physics 1.1. The simulated and observed wave shape of the fluid are the same
