Exergy analysis of Instrument Airand NitrogenPlants abstract
Energy is one of the mostimportant factors of production and hasaspecial place in the economic development of every country. Main energy supply of the word iscoming fromfossil fuel that emission many pollutantsto atmosphereand cause many environmental pollution. It is noted that the industrial complexes structure in the field of oil, gas and petrochemicals, areone of the most important sectors in these complexes is utility unit. This unit is most taken into consideration of energy consumption and energy efficiency.One of the most important methods for energy optimizing is calculation of energy consumption and exergy analysis.Exergy analysis involves calculating the physical exergy, chemical exergy, total exergy, lost work, andexergy efficiency of equipment.Exergy analysis of processescreatedthe energy efficiencyandreducesthe environmental pollution caused.In this study exergy calculation was performedfor Instrument air and nitrogen plantsthat arepart of a utility unit,by using Aspen HYSYSand Microsoft Excelsoftware. The calculation is done for actual conditions thatambient conditionstemperature is 25 ̊C and pressure is 1 atm.
