A Study on the Impact of Zeolite on Physical and Mechanical Properties of Porous Concrete abstract
Porous concrete technology has been highly considered and used in countries with high rainfalls. The following research tries to study the impact of zeolite on physical and mechanical properties of porous concrete. The water to cement ratio and density of the consumed cement were 3.0 and 053kg/m0, respectively. Also, the consumed zeolite was of clinoptilolite type which was 5 and 83 weight percent of aggregates replacement. After preparing 83×83×83 cm cube samples and 83×80 cm cylinder samples, and 42 hours of wet curing, samples were brought out of the molds and were put in water for curing. Compressive strength results suggest that the compressive strength and water absorption percentage increase by adding zeolite. The mixture design with 83 percent zeolite had the lowest permeability and porosity among the mixture designs
