Abstract:

Several theories exist regarding the displacement of slopes and earth walls such as Newmark. The used of reinforced soil to design of earth walls and slopes is a method that has become popular in recent years. In some places, structures such as retaining walls and soil slopes have been in seismic active regions and when earthquake occurs, the structures subject to permanent displacement. Seismic permanent displacement of reinforced soil mass caused by tow integration of seismic acceleration. In this paper, based on limit equilibrium and using the horizontal slices method. In this method sliding wedge divided to horizontal slices in collapse mode. Effort will be to propose a new formulation for estimating the seismic displacements of reinforced soil mass under earthquake conditions. Finally, results of proposed method compare to other solutions.
