Abstract:

This paper presents an effective watermarking scheme which uses logistic and Arnold’s cat map based chaotic systems to improve watermarking security, and DCT and YIQ properties to enhance the imperceptibility and robustness. In the proposed scheme, first, the watermark is sets up to an initial random configuration sequence and scrambled by the logistic map based chaotic system. Then, two separate pseudo-random number generators are used to encode 1 and 0 separately to reduce the change of false detection. Subsequently, the secured watermark is embedded into quantized DCT blocks coefficients of the intended YIQ channel of the host image which has been scrambled by Arnold’s cat map based chaotic system. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm improves the security and imperceptibility of watermark and has better robustness against most common signal processing attacks such as JPEG compression, cropping, different noises adding, filtering, scaling etc. attacks compared to the related existing methods.
