Abstract:
Today, the role of managers and leaders in organizational success is paid more attention due to increasingly environmental changes such as technological development, hyper-competition in business, increasingly changes in the expectations of public organizations’ stakeholders and higher impact of organizational efficiency in the acceptance and promotion of a government in both national and international levels. To the same reason, present paper studies the relationship between managers’ strategic thinking and leadership styles in Sarcheshmeh Copper Industry Corporation. Its population consists of 150 top and middle managers and supervisors. Since research population is limited, 150 questionnaires were distributed of which 115 ones were returned. A standard questionnaire was used to collect data and Cronbach's alpha ratio was used to analyze its reliability. In terms of goal, this is an applied research while it is a descriptive and correlation survey in terms of gathering needed data. Chi2 test is used to analyze data extracted from the questionnaire by SPSS20 software. The findings indicate that there is a positive and significant relationship between managers’ strategic thinking and leadership style (task – oriented, relations – oriented).
