ROBUST CONTROLLER DESIGN FOR A CONTINUOUS BIOREACTOR abstract
In this paper we consider a control problem for an uncertain continuous bioreactor model with a general monotone growth function. We used a linearized simple model of the bioreactor. The uncertainties in the model parameters were used to consider the unmodeled dynamics of the system. We designed a controller that guaranteed the robust stability of the system for the maximum uncertainty in the model and good disturbance rejection (robust performance) of the process with H∞ synthesis. With this controller, the system shows both robust stability and robust performance.
