Assessment the impact of meteorological drought on Land use change abstract
Drought is not only the world’s costliest natural event, collectively affecting more people than any other form of natural hazard. In this study, to evaluate the effect of drought on land use in Hamadan- Bahar Watershed, meteorological data and remote sensing techniques have been used. Firstly, the standard precipitation index (SPI) for four Meteorological Stations during the years of 1991-2013 was calculated. Results obtained from the index SPI, showed that in 2000 and 2013 the severe drought and moderate drought occurred, respectively. Next, in order to provide the land use map of Hamadan- Bahar Watershed, digital data obtained from TM (1992), ETM (2000) and OLI (2013) sensor of digital data of the Landsat 5 , 7 and 8 were used . To classify images, were used Maximum likelihood method .Result is showed also indicated that compromise to the years 1992, the area of rangeland and agricultural land decreased in 2000 and 2013. The drought accrued in 2000 compared to 2013 have the greatest impact on reducing dry agricultural; while the drought accrued in 2013 have the greatest impact on reducing rangeland.
