Abstract:

The objective of this study is the effect of carbon nanotubes (CNT) functionalized in different percentage of dispersion on the morphology, Dynamical-mechanical and thermal properties of Nanocomposites of PC/CNT. The Nanotubes that used in this study have diameter between 10-20 nm and the average length of Nanotubes is 10μm. Moreover, the Nanotubes had been functionalized by Carboxylic functional group. The composites were obtained by solvent evaporation. The results of TEM test, dynamic-mechanical and thermal properties proved, the amount of mixing, dispersion and distribution of the carbon nano tubes case to improve the Nanocomposite properties. The TEM test results showed that, increasing the amount of Nano-particles from 0.5 wt. % to 5 wt. % causes to have better dispersion of Nanocomposite on the nano-material surface. TGA tests were used to investigate the thermal properties of the Nano-composites. The results showed that increasing the percentage of nanotubes can be increased the destruction temperature. DMTA test was used to investigate the mechanical-dynamical properties. As expected, increasing in the amount of nanotubes causes to increase the amount of storage modulus. Meanwhile, Tanδ decreased with increasing the nanotube and elastic module.
