Design and Analysis of Traveling Wave Multiplier

In this paper, analysis of MESFET Traveling Wave Multipliers has been presented. Moreover, a systematic approach to design this class of multipliers is presented. The analysis has revealed that the gate phase factor and the transmission-line attenuation are the critical factors in the design of the traveling wave multipliers. In order to examine the presented approach, a frequency doubler has been designed from 7 to 17 GHz. The excellent agreement between analytical and simulation outcomes validates the accuracy of the method.
