Adaptive image compression algorithm for using in CMOS image sensor abstract
This paper presents a CMOS image sensor that included in chip image compression block. Image quality is a main challenge for DSC designers and one of the improving ways in this field is increasing pixel numbers. But it causes to increases output digital data size and needed much memory to capture output data. Image compression is a good solution to reduce the output data size but it takes more time to do. A technique for accelerating the compression speed without losing more image quality is developed. A fuzzy logic controller is implemented in image compression block to decided image compression ratio as fast as possible. This technique helps us to compress images by focusing in its information.
