Synthesis of water-disersible znS quantum dots via a one pot hydrothermal method abstract

Quantum dots known as luminesent semiconducting crystalin nanoparticles are in the nanometer range szies between 1-10 nm, have very unusual prpeties with great prospective for use in biomedical and environmental applicatuons . ZnS quantum dots QDs were prepared via a facitle and environmentally friendly one -pot hydrothermal method. the resulting ZnS QDs demonstrated a cubic b-sphalertite structure, spherical morphology and controllable crystla size in the range of 4-5 depending on the reaction time, as characterized by X=ray diffection and transimmison electron microscopy TEM. the nanostructurs their physical characteristics were examined by XRD TEM and FT-IR spectroscopy. the optical properties of the ZnS nanocrystal were also measured by UV/ VIS AND photoluminescence PL spectra.
