Zinc and lead poisoning effects on hepatic tissue in male rats abstract
Many studies show that high amount of zinc might pose an effect on tissues and metabolic activities but lead has not any beneficial biological role in our body. Present study investigated the zinc and lead poisoning effects on hepatic tissue in male rats. 64 male adult Wistar rats were divided into controls and treated groups. Treated groups under zinc sulfate received 20, 40 and 80 mg / kg and Treated groups under lead acetate received 25, 50, 100 mg/kg solutions orally for 15 days respectively. Animals liver tissue used in histopathological changes assessment. The zinc sulfate had no significant effects on the liver, but lead acetate was causes of many histopathological side effects such as loss of general arrangement of liver tissue, creating abnormal spaces between the liver cells and inflammatory cells in the portal space. The lead is cause major histopathological side effects on the liver tissues
