Abstract:

This study is performed to evaluate the knowledge and attention of second grade teachers of elementary school in Urmia city about the national curriculum and concepts of Pattern Aims of the national curriculum in the academic year of 2013-2014. The studied society was formed by all the teachers of the second grade of elementary school in Urmia city that 49 of them, because of having the study condition, participated in the study by the random cluster sampling technique. The researcher made questionnaire was the data collection tool. Frequency and percentage were used to describe the data. The results showed that a significant part of teachers (41%) are familiar with the national curriculum at the intermediate level. 39% of teachers are familiar with Pattern Aims in average level and below average. 36% of teachers pay a little attention to the components of Pattern Aims while teaching. Based on this, elementary teachers, after two years of implementing the national curriculum still aren’t able to make a considered and acceptable relationship with the national curriculum and Pattern Aims and the content of regulated syllabus based on this program and pattern. This lack of knowledge will be the biggest weakness of teachers in teaching the content of new courses in the same direction of national curriculum.
