Abstract:
metal free electro-catalysts based on halogen doped reduced graphene oxide (X-RGO) have shown promising oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) activity in alkaline media. In this study, wereport a facil method to synthesis of RGO from graphite electrodes using ionic liquid-assisted electrochemical exfoliation and Cl-RGO and Br-RGO in solution phase. The characterization of synthesized catalysts have been investigation by FT-IR, Raman and XRD techniques. We haveevaluated the effectiveness of doping and performed electrochemical measurements (involving chronoamprometry, cyclic voltammetry, and linear sweep voltammetry and impedance spectroscopy) of the ORR activity in 0.5 M KOH solution. The resulting kinetic of ORR process by X-RGO electro-catalysts becomes improve more than RGO.
