An Optimal Block-Diagonal Precompensator For Partitioned Large-Scale Systems abstract

The paper outlines an approach to optimally implement a block-diagonal precompensator, in the least-squares sense, for large-scale systems. This reduces the high dimensionality of an interacting partitioned largescale system to smaller and less complex diagonalblock subsystems for which simpler independent block controllers can be designed using the blockdiagonal dominance property. Simulation design examples are presented to illustrate the procedure and the effectiveness of the proposed method.
