Application of Knowledge management to actualize the Knowledge of cross–functional teams for effectiveness of Six Sigma projects in Sarcheshmeh Copper Complex abstract
Nowadays, knowledge management is a key factor in the success of projects. Besides determining the current situation of organizational knowledge, the aim of this paper is to design a pattern for identifying the relationship of Nonaka and Takeuchi knowledge management model on the effectiveness of the Six Sigma projects on Sarcheshmeh Copper Complex. By analyzing the current situation, appropriate strategies will be suggested toward the effectiveness of Six Sigma projects. This study follows the descriptive–analytic method. The questionnaires were completed by participants in Six Sigma projects. Among 290 questionnaires consisted of questions related to organizational knowledge measurement and the Six Sigma model, 202 completed questionnaires were collected. After collecting the questionnaires, the data were analyzed by SPSS16, Minitab15 and LISREL8.54, by using statistical tests. Path analysis is used to examine the relationships between variables of the knowledge model with variables related to the effectiveness of Six Sigma projects. Path analysis confirmed the relationship between the two models, and showed that the correlation between overall organizational knowledge and effectiveness of Six Sigma projects has been significant and the path coefficient between these two latent variables was 0.63 in ninety–five percent confidence level. Also, the state of knowledge in the hidden organizational knowledge level had the highest score and in the dimension of hidden personal knowledge detection level was rated the lowest. The field hidden personal knowledge detection level has identified as the first priority for measures to improve towards further effectiveness of Six Sigma projects. To this, the financial incentives, knowledge sharing and create knowledge sharing culture by realizing organizational slogans are strategies that can be recommended for heightening this index.
