Descriptive models for explaining permittivity of binary mixtures of Pentane + Primary alcohols

The static relative permittivity is one of the basic physical properties that provides usefulinformation on the intermolecular interactions in liquid mixtures. Different mixing rules havebeen introduced in the literature for predicting the permittivity of a mixture. In this work,improved mixing rules proposed by Mehrotra [1] are investigated for description of effectivepermittivity as a function of modification in volume fraction due to aggregation solvent andsolute molecules in the mixture. This method was previously employed by Amooey forLooyenga, Bottcher, Peon-Iglesias, Bruggeman asymmetric and Ideal model of relativepermittivity of the mixture [2]. In this study we introduced the same modification forIglesias-Peon [3] Lichteneker-Rother [4] and Kraszewski [5] and compared the results withexperimental data of pantene and nine primary alcohols.
